How long does TriMix take to work?

Onset depends on your dose, injection technique, individual physiology, and sexual stimulation, and the effect generally lasts 30–90 minutes. If you see little or no response at your current dose, don't re-dose — wait at least 24 hours and contact your provider about a dose adjustment.

Who is Trimix for?

Trimix is for men who haven't had success with oral ED medications or need a more reliable option. Because it's injected directly into the penis, it works independently of oral absorption and is often effective for men with diabetes, a history of prostate surgery, or other conditions affecting blood flow. It's not appropriate for everyone — your provider will review your health history and medications before prescribing.

How effective is Trimix?

Trimix is considered the most effective ED treatment available, with reported success rates over 90%. It works independently of arousal because it acts directly on penile blood flow, which is why it's used when pills fall short. Results still depend on correct dosing and technique, and your effective dose is dialed in gradually with your provider.

What's in TriMix? What is the dosing?

RespondWell uses the T-105 formulation:
• Papaverine 30mg
• Phentolamine Mesylate 1mg
• Prostaglandin E1 10mcg

Compounded by Hallandale or Olympia Pharmacy. A 1-month supply is 5 mL; a 3-month supply is 15 mL (three 5 mL vials).

Standard dosing protocol — your prescriber may adjust this:
Inject 0.05 mL (5 units) at the base of the penis before sexual activity. Increase by 0.025–0.05 mL (2.5-5 units) based on response. Wait at least 24 hours before repeating or increasing the dose. Maximum 0.50 mL (50 units) per dose; no more than 3 doses per week.

Do you offer other formulations like Super TriMix, BiMix, QuadMix, or T-106?

No — RespondWell offers only the T-105 TriMix formulation. T-105 is a well-established, balanced formulation that works for the vast majority of men, and standardizing on a single formula lets our prescribers fine-tune your results through dosing adjustments rather than switching formulas. Focusing on one formulation also means our pharmacy compounds it at higher volume, which keeps quality consistent and pricing lower than we could offer across multiple formulas.

What are the side effects of Trimix?

Accepted Answer

Common side effects include mild pain at the injection site, prolonged erection, and minor bruising. The most serious risk is priapism (erection lasting more than 4 hours), which requires immediate medical attention. Proper dosing and technique minimize these risks.

Question 6

Do you prescribe phenylephrine injections for prolonged erections or priapism?

Accepted Answer

No. RespondWell providers don't prescribe phenylephrine injections, and we don't offer or advertise phenylephrine as part of our services.

Why not?

Because this treatment needs real-time monitoring. Phenylephrine is sometimes used off-label for priapism or prolonged erections, but clinical guidelines call for blood pressure and heart rate monitoring during and after each dose because of a real, if uncommon, risk of cardiovascular side effects.

That kind of monitoring belongs in a medical setting — not at home through telehealth.

Can I take Sudafed if an erection is lasting too long?

For some patients, yes. Pseudoephedrine HCl — the ingredient in original Sudafed — may be considered before an erection reaches the 4-hour mark, as long as you don't have contraindications.

Important: this does not mean Sudafed PE. Sudafed PE contains phenylephrine and is not the same medication.

Pseudoephedrine can raise blood pressure and heart rate, so patients with heart conditions, uncontrolled blood pressure, or other risk factors should ask a clinician before using it.

What should I do if I have a prolonged erection?

Don't wait and hope it goes away.

If your erection is lasting longer than expected, follow the instructions provided with your medication. Prior to the 4-hour mark, consider Sudafed. If you have an erection lasting 4 hours or more, seek emergency medical care right away or call 911. No guessing. No toughing it out. Get checked.

Why does RespondWell take this approach?

Your safety comes first. RespondWell is built for convenient care, but not at the expense of clinical judgment. Some treatments just aren't appropriate for an at-home telehealth model, and our medical team has made the call not to offer phenylephrine injections for that reason.

Is the injection painful?

Most men report minimal discomfort — the needle is very fine and the injection is quick. We provide complete training and supplies so you feel confident with the process. Many patients say it's much easier than they expected.

Do I have to commit to auto refill?

Accepted Answer

No. Every plan is fully flexible — pause, delay, reschedule, or cancel whenever you want, right from your patient portal or with a quick message to our team. Your next refill date is always shown on your portal and in every confirmation email, and you'll get an email and text before anything processes, so there are never surprises. Refills run every 25 days on monthly plans and every 85 days on quarterly, timed so your next supply arrives before you run out. The only ask: make changes at least 48 hours before the refill date shown so we can pull the order before the pharmacy fills it. Full flexibility, full transparency — you're always in control.

One note for injectables like TriMix: per FDA/USP guidelines, vials have a 28-day beyond-use date once punctured. Our plans have been priced to ensure you never have to choose between safety and affordability.

In most states your consultation is asynchronous — you complete a secure intake and a licensed clinician reviews it, typically in under 4 hours, with no live appointment required.

Here's how it works:

1. Complete your intake: Fill out a secure health questionnaire and add any questions or concerns.
2. Clinician review: A licensed provider reviews your intake, typically in under 4 hours.
3. Next steps: If everything is clear, and treatment is medically appropriate, your provider may issue a prescription. If more information is needed, your provider will message you with follow-up questions so you can respond on your schedule.

Some states require a live visit. If that applies to you, you'll choose a time and meet by phone or video:
Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, New Mexico, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT): video consultations are required in all states.

You're not on your own after a prescription is issued. Message your provider via your patient portal anytime, or contact support via portal or text message.

Our plans are fully inclusive – your consultation, medication, injection supplies, and 2-day shipping are all covered, with no hidden membership fees.

When you start a consultation or order, a temporary authorization hold is placed on your card. If treatment isn't approved by your clinician, the hold is released or refunded promptly, though the exact timing depends on your bank. If labs were required prior to a denial, your refund will be issued minus the laboratory fees.

Once approved, your medication is shipped directly to you in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging (where required) via free expedited shipping. To ensure you never miss a dose, refills are processed automatically on 1-month and 3-month plans, but you're always in control – you can pause or cancel your subscription anytime through your portal. Pause/cancellation requests must be made prior to medication shipment.

Good to know: Because we work with a nationwide pharmacy network to ensure fast delivery, your actual packaging might look different than the images on our site.

We collect your credit card as part of our secure checkout and identity verification process. Verifying that your card is active helps ensure that, if a licensed clinician approves your prescription, your order can be processed promptly and sent to the pharmacy without unnecessary delays.

At this stage, your card is not charged for the treatment. We only place a temporary authorization hold to confirm the card is active.

What happens if my prescription is not approved?

If your prescription is not approved by the licensed clinician, your order will not move forward and the temporary authorization hold will be voided.

Our intake process screens for major disqualifying factors before you reach the thank-you page, so reaching that step generally means there is a reasonably high likelihood that you may be medically eligible for the treatment requested. Final eligibility, however, is always determined by the reviewing clinician.

If your prescription is approved, your card will be charged and your order will be sent to the pharmacy for fulfillment.
